be your own stylist
Hi friends! I’m excited to welcome Ashlee to CLC to share a little of her style with us today. I’m a big fan of getting creative with what you already have ( and maybe adding a few new + inexpensive items ) to create a style that is your own. If you are too.. you’ll love this! Make sure you say hello to Ashlee! She’s such a sweetheart!

I’m not totally obsessed with trends nor do I fuss too much about what I wear. However, I believe it’s important that we experiment a little with our personal style. Like many of you, I don’t have my own stylist on speed dial or have endless funds to constantly update my closet. But here’s the good news, we don’t need any of that.
We can be our OWN stylists.
Through much trial and error, there are three things (I have learned) that you can do to be your own stylist:
- Find inspiration from your favorite dressed celebrities, friends, or actresses
- Experiment with changes or additions to your current outfits
- Don’t change too much – you always need to be yourself
To give you a few examples, I kept the basis of this outfit simple: jeans and a white tee. I normally wear it with sandals, a few bracelets, and my ring. Now if you experiment a little with certain pieces, you’ll notice how subtle changes can make a drastic (good) difference. So not only can you play around with being your own stylist but you can also make your wardrobe work double-duty.
Here are 3 ways to style your jeans and white tee for a day at the office, a night out, or an errand-filled afternoon. Also, remember to have your makeup and hair done accordingly. Happy Styling!

Love this! I’m such a fan of jeans and a tee and it’s fun to get creative with it. Great job Ashlee! :)
I love style posts like these. So manageable and affordable!!! I’m definitely a fan of Ashlee (and not just because we practically share the same name) ;)
What a great post! I’m loving the errand-filled afternoon look. The large cardigan + boots is such a staple for me in the fall, and this look is making me desperately want to grab a coffee and scour through some estate sales!
Thanks so much for the kind words ladies!
I definitely try to keep my style minimal & manageable in order to still be myself. It’s wonderful to know we can agree on that. I would love to follow your blogs!
they’re so right! you did an amazing job with this one! :) thanks again!
