bold bean
I can’t wait to start sharing some of our favorite local spots on CLC. There are so so many fun little places to check out in the North Florida area but sometimes it takes a while to find them all! Jacksonville is huge and everything is so spread out… we hope to make it a little easier for you to find the best spots. If you have a favorite local shop, restuarant, etc. in North Florida that you think would be a perfect fit for CLC, shoot me an email! We love adding to our list of faves. :)
Bold Bean has become one of our absolute favorite places to hang out, catch up over coffee and sometimes just take a break from the office!
They have an awesome menu (and everything is better on a chalkboard, right!?) with so many great options. I made myself tried all of the “weird” latte flavors like wild flower honey and spicy chocolate (which were surprisingly amazing) before I settled into a regular order. I’m so bad about finding one thing I love and then never trying anything new!
I’m stuck on the vanilla latte. It’s going to take a lot to break me now!
I’ve been meeting with Sarah and Taylor (CLC contributors) at Bold Bean weekly for a few months now. Our goal is always to get work done but every time we’re together it’s inspiration OVERLOAD, we talk a mile a minute and I get giddy about new ideas and do my “excited hands” often. (maybe I’ll share this one day when I’m feeling brave… I look like a total fool.)
These girls are the best. They make me a better artist, no doubt.
See more from our shoot on the CLC facebook page!

LOL I love it. Love you guys too. xo
Yay! haha love you too friend :)
Sarah ROCKED these images.
And coming from a girl who has lost both of her favorite local coffee shops in less than a year I am majorly jealous of this fabulous spot.
About the space: obsessed with the chalkboards everywhere, loving the lettering, and inspired the industrial yet warm vibe going on.
P.S. I love “work” parties (that’s what we call them here in TX ;)
Agreed. She rocks, completely.
We’ll add this to the list for with you come visit! ;)
Ashley! I feel as though I should introduce myself, “Hi I’m Sarah!” ;) Ha, whew, glad we have now been formally introduced! ;) Jk, but for real! ;) – Anyway, I love your blog. I’m so glad your apart of CLC and I’m totally curious where you live in TX?! I feel as though I have creative friends and photographers that live all throughout TX. I travel to TX at least once a year to visit friends. So, if your in the areas that I visit I’d love to meet you for real one day! – Anyway, it’s nice to meet you and can’t wait to getting to know you better!
~Sarah :)
I’M COMING if you go meet her!! Hahaa ;)
You both are wonderful. And “Hi I’m Ashley!” haha! So glad we’ve formally met ;)
I live in Lubbock which is in West Texas. Kinda in the middle of nowhere. And flat. And dry. But for reals you guys have to come! If you let me know where you go in Tx I totally don’t mind driving to meet you guys! I’ve got friends and family in Dallas and Austin and I’m a totally pro-road trips.
P.S. CLC is kicking some major bottoms. TOTALLY stoked to be a part of it :)
(and I just read my response and noticed that I said “totally” way too many times. however I am not going to remove a single of one of them because it’s just how i am. haha)
GAH that is one of the best coffee shops I’ve ever seen… the chalkboard walls are amazing. It’s not hard to see why you girls meet up there, it’s such an inspiring place! And nothing beats a good vanilla latte in my book :)
Isn’t it awesome!? We just found it recently. So so glad we did. :)
I just stumbled across your blog. Such great photos and a wonderful sense of personality from you all. That’s something pretty rare I think and bet you’ll have great success!
Look forward to reading more
x Elena
Thank you so much Elena! That’s so great to hear :)

So glad you support them too! :)
And thanks so much! All of the photography was by Sarah from Sarahdipity Photos. She completely rocks.
Great post, and not saying this just on the bias that it happens to take place at my favorite spot in the city. Have fun searching for all the city’s hidden gems, and I’ll look forward to seeing more posts!
Thanks! Have any recommendations? We’d like to get a list going of local places we’d like to promote!
Lived right around the corner from Bold Bean until a few weeks ago. Thanks for featuring one of Jax’s best spots so brilliantly!
We had a great time doing it! What are some of your other favorite local spots? We’d like to start promoting local small businesses regularly.
Gosh, there are quite a few hip local spots that would look great on your blog! :) To name a few: TacoLu (though it’s *always* busy!) at the Beach, Hawthorn Salon in 5 Points has a great staff and is beautifully designed, Sun Ray Cinema (formerly known as 5 Points Theatre) is my favorite spot for movies and pizza, and there’s the legendary Chamblin’s Bookmine (both the “Uptown” and Roosevelt locations). I love the idea of local small businesses being on your blog more often. Jacksonville is a pretty great place, once you find out about all the good spots! I’m sure I could provide you with more recommendations. ;)
Wow, AWESOME. Thank you so so much! I will definitely add these to the list. I really appreciate this!
Some more suggestions: Bold City Brewery, Intuition Ale Works (and any of the local breweries, actually), the Riverside Arts Market on Saturdays, the Main Library downtown has an AMAZING zine collection (the largest in the Southeast) that really promotes DIY culture and awesomeness. I could go on. :)
YES my husband loves the local breweries. I definitely want to feature them – that would be awesome!
I’ve never heard and the zine collection! I’ll have to check that out, for sure.
Um, yes, please do! haha! :)
I’m swooning over this coffee shop! If I lived in Jacksonville, I’m sure I would visit multiple times a week. I’m loving this blog! You’re definitely achieving your goal to inspire. :)
If you’re ever in Jacksonville, it should definitely be on your list of places to check out.
And thank you so much! That’s so great to hear! :)
I love this! Looks darling, and right up my alley! I have to say, I am really enjoying your blog! It’s so nice to see a design+faith blog. Definitely a regular follower now! :)
Thanks so much Margaret! That’s super encouraging! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it :)
Hey Jordan! Diddling about your blog and I love it! Let me know the next time you ladies plan to go :)
Well thank you so much! I definitely will! :)
