new year goals
Happy New Years Eve! It’s the last day of 2012. Where did it go!?
I have to say, I’m extremely excited about 2013.
I’ve made a long list of goals for Create Like Crazy. A few of those goals are: rebranding, building a portfolio site for my design work ( it’s about time, right!? ), new columns, focusing my efforts, not working 24/7… it goes on for a while.
While a long list of goals or resolutions is great, it can be very overwhelming. Last year Chris and I did something with our church group that I loved – we picked one word for 2012. This word represented the coming year, whether it be a goal we wanted to reach, a quality we wanted to work on or a overall theme.
This year my word is encourage.
I really appreciate people that are continuously uplifting. This year, I want to work on being that friend for others! I want this to effect all of my relationships, including my relationship with you, the CLC readers!
For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
What are your goals for 2013?
If you come up with a word of your own, please share it! Let’s keep each other accountable this year.

Lovely post! My word for 2013 is BALANCE. Striving to find balance between work + life, relaxation + drive. Focusing to stay present in each moment and create happiness in each day. Cheers and best wishes for 2013!
So excited to see what all God has in store for you in 2013! You know I love you.
I’ve never had a word of the year before, but I’ve definitely had some things on my heart, so I need to pick one! Thanks for the encouragement to do it ;)
I think my main goal is to be brave and give all I have. I’ve spent the last two months (more so the last month) putting more time and effort into my blog and creative business, and I want to continue that into next year. However, I also want to be brave to go after new endeavors or try to new things. I have to admit I’m a bit timid, so this will be difficult, but I’m excited (for myself and you!)! :)
I love the idea of picking a word for the year. So much better (and so much more thought goes into thinking of one word!) than a whole list of resolutions, in my opinion. I just wrote about Romans 1:12 which is a verse all about encouragement so I really connected with your word for the year.
I’m actually having a hard time picking one and have been praying about what word I should pick. I’m currently thinking about the word “bold” because that’s something I struggle with being. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your word for the year! I cannot wait to read all that He has in store for you this upcoming year. Happy 2013!
This is so good! I’ve been pondering some resolutions for this year and haven’t really come up with anything just yet. I’m going to have to think this over and see if a word sticks out to me.
LOVE it! My word for the year is GRATEFUL. I am going to try to be more conscious of and thankful for what I already have rather than beating myself up about what I don’t have or can’t do. Here’s to a year of supporting, encouraging and being grateful for one another!
